Nascott Wood Rangers  vs  St Albans City West (10th Dec)

West made a bright start on a very difficult surface with some good through balls from Ryan Rickard on the left. Nascott, however, soaked up the early pressure and opened the scoring against the run of play after ten minutes when they were not closed down in midfield, and though Alex Cobb in goal blocked well, the ball rebounded cruelly for an easy tap in.

West defended well and denied Nascott any more clear chances but created few themselves, the best effort from a long range Matt Peckham lob that went over the bar, while an excellent George Figg corner was also headed just over by Greg Springall on the stroke of half time.

The second half started badly when a goal kick went straight to a Nascott player who slotted through to leave their attacker one on one and he took it well.  West then upped their game again and a shot by Greg from the edge of the box went just over.  Ross Whinnett then put in a cross to Scott Howlett who flicked it over the keeper to put them back in the game.  West continued to press and definitely finished the stronger but where unable to find the equaliser which their hard work probably deserved.

Final Score:  Nascott Wood Rangers  2 - 1  St. Albans City West
